Can’t decide what to do for New Year’s Eve? Here are some of the best events, parties and dining happening in Toronto this year.

CN Tower

Toronto’s most iconic landmark will be hosting a NYE party where you can ring in the new year 300 meters above ground. Dine and dance the night away on the famous glass floor at the main event, where DJs will be spinning classic and Top 40 hits and staff will put out a midnight buffet and party favours.

Also at the CN Tower, the rotating 360 Restaurant will be preparing a special four-course NYE meal including a house champagne toast at midnight. Expect gourmet food and wine with a focus on local — including the award-winning wine and craft beer list. With views over the city skyline, Lake Ontario and fireworks below, it will be a night to remember.

It isn’t just adults who get to party at the CN Tower on New Year’s — an afternoon bash just for kids will have live entertainment, a buffet and a countdown at 5PM. Kids of all ages are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult (18+).

Nathan Phillips Square

The annual party at Nathan Phillips Square is Toronto’s go-to New Year’s Eve celebration. The free outdoor event features fireworks, a DJ skate party and live musical performances. It’s family friendly and all ages are welcome — join thousands of excited partygoers for the midnight countdown. If you’re visiting from out of town, this is also where you’ll get the best photo ops along with your New Year’s Eve entertainment; City Hall and the giant TORONTO sign in the background are picture perfect.

New Year’s Black and White Truffle Celebration at CRU Restaurant

Ring in the new year with a little luxury — CRU Restaurant will be offering a six-course tasting menu with a choice of white ($170/pp) or black ($130/pp) truffles at every course. Risotto with lobster and truffles and beef short ribs with celeriac and truffles are just some of the delicacies on offer. The upscale restaurant in the Financial District is known for contemporary Canadian cuisine and everything from the signature sourdough bread to the decadent desserts is made in-house.

Bravissimo! Opera’s Greatest Hits at Roy Thomson Hall

Celebrate the new decade with a cast of top international opera stars! This annual concert features the finest arias, choruses, and duets from the best-loved operas including Rigoletto, Tosca, La Bohème, Aida and Carmen. It’s an evening of passion, romance and decadence and a unique New Year’s celebration for seasoned opera lovers and those new to the scene.

No matter what New Year’s Eve event you choose, keep your evening safe and stress-free by choosing transit and booking a centrally located hotel so you can celebrate all night long. The Anndore House, JDV by Hyatt, Hotel Victoria, and Strathcona are all great options in the downtown core.

2020 is shaping up to be a great year. Get out there and celebrate!
